Destination Projects in Practice
Travel2Devetaki: A Smart App Project for Rural Tourism
Travel2Devetaki is Travel2Fit’s digital tourism platform project selected through SMART ERA’s open call. Planned features include interactive maps, destination promotion, and personalized travel planning. The project aims to help visitors discover local attractions and explore rural experiences. For destination managers, it illustrates an approach worth considering when planning digital visitor services. Explore Travel2Devetaki.
PULSE: A Shared Destination Events Calendar
PULSE brings festivals, exhibitions, performances, and local activities into one destination events calendar. Visitors can explore events around their travel dates, while local organizations contribute information through a submission process. Destination teams retain approval control, and Travel2Fit can support calendar updates. This gives DMOs a practical tool for showcasing cultural life and coordinating event information. Discover PULSE.
Pieria Case Study: A Calendar with Measurable Engagement
Travel2Fit implemented the Pieria Cultural Calendar for the Pierian Organisation of Tourism Development and Promotion (POTAP).

Between May 2024 and April 2025, it recorded 10,782 unique visitors and 19,686 visits. It promoted 54 cultural events in Greek and English, with visits averaging three minutes and two seconds. These published results show how audiences used a shared destination resource. Read the Pieria case study.
AITHRA: Environmental Information for Visitor Planning
AITHRA presents air quality and weather information through an interactive map. Its Greek beaches demonstration shows how environmental information can support a specific tourism theme.
The UNESCO heritage example offers another perspective: connecting cultural discovery with environmental context. A similar DMO project could cover selected beaches, landmarks, or outdoor visitor locations. Available forecasts could complement destination content and help visitors plan their activities. ROSIE: Tourism Data and Forecasting Research
Travel2Fit’s ROSIE project explored forecasting through big data and machine learning within the Horizon 2020 REACH Incubator. Its focus included pricing insights for tourism SMEs and microbusinesses. This research adds an analytical dimension to Travel2Fit’s destination technology experience. For tourism organizations, it provides a starting point for discussing projects addressing specific data and planning questions. Learn about ROSIE.
What Could We Build for Your Destination?
Your destination might need an app highlighting local attractions or a shared calendar connecting cultural organizations. A coastal region could explore environmental maps for its beaches. A heritage destination could consider digital information supporting visits to cultural landmarks. Travel2Fit’s project examples provide starting points for discussing your own requirements. Together, we can explore an appropriate scope based on your audiences, content, budget, and operational needs.
